Hololive Production has officially announced a new television anime titled “Odekake Hololive” (roughly, “Hololive Goes Out”), unveiling a teaser visual and dedicated official website on September 23, 2026. The reveal came during a livestream titled “Big Announcement! A Hololive 10th Anniversary Project! What Is TV Anime #Odeholo?”, which kicked off at 8 p.m. Japan time.

According to the announcement, the series will follow an omnibus-style travel story, following Hololive talents as they journey across Japan on their days off, sampling regional food and local experiences along the way. During the stream, viewers were shown character visuals of the Hololive members set to appear in the anime, and the hosts also entertained the audience with a Japanese prefecture trivia quiz.

The production also confirmed its core staff. Shunsuke Machiya, known for storyboard and directing work on titles including “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby,” “Fu Bukan” (Kaito Detective), and “Snowball Earth,” will direct the series, with Ori Yasukawa serving as assistant director. Series composition is credited to Kodai Minami of Studio KAI, character design to Masatoshi Tsuji, and animation production is being handled by Studio KAI. The project is based on original material from Cover Corporation, Hololive’s parent company.

“Odekake Hololive” is positioned as one of the flagship projects marking Hololive’s 10th anniversary, joining a wave of milestone announcements from the franchise this year. Further casting and airing details have not yet been revealed, though a dedicated YouTube channel for the anime has also been launched alongside the official site.

Who is Hololive Production?

Hololive Production is a Japanese virtual YouTuber (VTuber) agency operated by Cover Corporation, home to dozens of animated digital personalities who stream gaming, music, and talk content to global audiences on YouTube. Since launching in 2016, Hololive has grown into one of the most commercially successful VTuber brands in the world, expanding into English and Indonesian branches, live concerts, merchandise, and now, its own television anime.

A full-blown TV anime for your 10th anniversary present? Honey, that’s not a birthday cake, that’s a whole wedding. I love that the pitch is basically "VTubers go on a field trip and eat snacks," because let’s be honest, that’s also 90% of their actual streams — they’ve just given it a director and a budget now. Cover clearly wants the world to know Hololive isn’t a YouTube fad anymore, it’s a media franchise with staff pedigree pulled straight off Uma Musume. I’m just waiting to see which member gets stuck as the designated disaster tourist in episode one, because there’s always one.
