Japanese YouTuber Hikakin (ヒカキン) has announced the birth of his second child. In a video posted to his channel on August 9, 2026, he walked viewers through the months leading up to the birth, from the gender reveal to the delivery room.
According to the video, Hikakin and his wife, referred to on the channel by the nickname Tsumakin, learned the baby’s sex around January 2026. For the reveal, Hikakin cut into an Anpanman-themed gender-reveal cake, which released blue cream and muscat grapes, signaling a boy. “Eh!?” he reacted, before adding, “Majikayo (No way),” as he celebrated the news with his eldest daughter, known on the channel as Minikin-chan.
The video then jumped to the due date itself, with Hikakin admitting he was nervous as he waited alongside Tsumakin before she was taken to the delivery room. The couple’s second child, given the channel nickname Puchikin-chan, was born safely and gripped Hikakin’s little finger shortly after birth. “Wow, she’s so cute,” Hikakin said, adding that he felt relieved the delivery had gone smoothly.
Minikin-chan later met her new baby sister for the first time, greeting her with a simple “Akachan (Baby).” Once home, Puchikin-chan was also introduced to the family’s two cats, Maruo and Mofuko, who appeared curious about the newest addition. While the baby slept, Hikakin and Tsumakin marked the occasion with sushi — Tsumakin’s first in ten months — with Tsumakin calling it “the sushi I’d been longing for” and praising how delicious it was. Viewers responded warmly to the video, with many commenting on its heartfelt, family-oriented tone.

Hikakin is one of Japan’s best-known YouTubers, having built his early fame on beatboxing and food-review videos before becoming a mainstay of Japanese online entertainment. He co-founded UUUM, one of Japan’s largest YouTuber talent agencies, and runs multiple channels covering vlogging, gaming, and product reviews that collectively draw tens of millions of subscribers. In recent years, his content has increasingly centered on family life alongside Tsumakin and their children.

I’ll admit it: I’m a sucker for an Anpanman gender-reveal cake, and Hikakin knew exactly what he was doing filming his own reaction to slicing into one. This is peak family-YouTuber content from a man who built an empire out of documenting literally everything, diapers now included. The nickname system alone tells you how far the branding goes — Tsumakin, Minikin, Puchikin, everyone in the house gets a "kin" suffix, which is either adorable or a little unsettling depending on your tolerance for extremely online parenting. But then you see Minikin-chan call her baby sister "akachan" with total toddler sincerity, and it’s hard to stay cynical. Congratulations to the newly four-person, two-cat Hikakin household.
