DJ SHACHO (DJ社長), the former leader of the now-disbanded group Repezen Foxx, announced on August 8, 2026 that he is ending his activities. The news came via a post on his X account, where he shared an image reading, “As of today, I will be ending my activities,” addressed to “everyone who has always supported DJ SHACHO.”
The announcement lands at the end of a turbulent few years for Repezen Foxx. DJ SHACHO disappeared from public view in December 2023, and other members of the group left one by one starting in January 2024. By January 2025, the group had no active members left. In June 2025, it was announced that Repezen Foxx would hold a farewell live show, and the group officially disbanded following that performance on December 31, 2025.
The group’s agency, Studio Candy Foxx, said on April 30, 2026 that Repezen Foxx’s YouTube channel and social media accounts would stop being updated as of July 2026, and that previously published videos and images, including unlisted ones, would gradually be made private or deleted as part of an archive cleanup.
Adding to the intrigue, DJ SHACHO’s YouTube channel was also updated around the same time with a long-form animated video titled “88888888,” running exactly 88 minutes and 8 seconds, which has drawn attention online alongside the retirement announcement.
Former Repezen Foxx member DJ Foi, who now works as a DJ and game streamer, reacted to the news with visible confusion, posting simply, “For real??” Fan reaction has been split: some expressed sadness at the news, while others were more skeptical, with comments suggesting this is “typical” of DJ SHACHO or speculating it could be a “hype stunt” to generate buzz.
Who is DJ SHACHO?
DJ SHACHO (DJ社長) rose to fame as the leader of Repezen Foxx, a Japanese comedy hip-hop and DJ group known for its high-energy YouTube content and music. As the group’s frontman, he became one of its most recognizable members before stepping away from public activity in late 2023, which set off the chain of departures that ultimately led to Repezen Foxx’s dissolution in late 2025.
No further details about DJ SHACHO’s future plans have been announced following his August 8 statement.
Author’s Comment
Oh, honey, we’ve been here before. This man vanishes, resurfaces, drops an 88-minute-and-8-second mystery video, and THEN tells us he’s "ending activities" — and you want me to take that at face value? I love a dramatic exit as much as the next person, but Japanese internet culture has a very healthy skepticism toward these announcements, and for good reason: half of them are prologues, not epilogues. DJ Foi’s "for real??" is basically the entire fandom’s collective face right now. I’ll believe this is really goodbye when the account goes quiet for good — not a day before.
