Yuyu (ゆうゆう), a member of the Osaka University graduate YouTube group Sekibun Circle (積分サークル), has announced that she got married. The news was shared in a video posted to the channel on July 23, 2026, in which Yuyu surprised her fellow members with the reveal.
According to the video, Yuyu’s castmates had no idea she was even in a relationship. She told them the couple had been dating for about a year before quietly marrying around Japan’s Golden Week holiday in early May 2026.
The proposal, as Yuyu described it, unfolded in two romantic stages. Her now-husband first took her to a restaurant, arriving with a bouquet and a handwritten letter for her to read. He then gave her an Advent calendar filled with a series of quiz questions; opening each door in order led to a final one that simply read, “Will you marry me?” Her groupmates responded to the story with reactions like “so romantic” and “that’s lovely.”
Yuyu explained that her partner is actually an old classmate from elementary school. The two had never been romantically involved growing up, but reconnected years later and the relationship developed from there. She said the decision to marry came naturally: she found herself able to picture a shared life together so clearly that continuing to simply “date” started to feel pointless. “We just got along, and being together felt comfortable,” she said of their relationship. The couple also bonded over a shared love of the Harry Potter series and are already planning a honeymoon trip to the United Kingdom. They aren’t living together yet, but Yuyu said they are currently house hunting and expect to move in together before the end of the year.
