A defamation lawsuit filed by Nijisanji VTuber Roa Yuzuki (夢月ロア) has been resolved through a court settlement, agency ANYCOLOR announced on August 13, 2026. The VTuber she sued, commentary streamer Narukami Sabaki (鳴神裁), confirmed the same day on X that the case was settled on May 18 and apologized, writing that he had \”ended up spreading false information\” to his audience.
The dispute traces back to July 2020, when Yuzuki raised concerns with her agency that fellow Nijisanji talent Kingyozaka Meiro (金魚坂めいろ) was using a speech accent similar to one she said she had originally created for her own persona. Kingyozaka responded that the accent reflected her natural regional dialect and was not intentional mimicry. That October, Kingyozaka’s contract with the agency was terminated over an alleged breach of confidentiality obligations unrelated to the accent dispute.
Around the same time, Narukami, a streamer known for \”monomousu-kei\” (物申す系) content — a genre built around publicly airing grievances and insider claims about other creators — released videos claiming to expose internal details about Kingyozaka’s situation. According to ANYCOLOR, Narukami’s broadcasts alleged that Yuzuki had bullied and harassed Kingyozaka to the point of forcing her retirement, sparking widespread backlash toward Yuzuki online. She has remained largely inactive as a VTuber ever since.
Yuzuki subsequently sued Narukami for defamation, seeking damages. ANYCOLOR said that during the legal proceedings, Narukami confirmed with Yuzuki that the bullying and harassment allegations were not true, and acknowledged that he had based his broadcasts on false information supplied by a third party. The settlement was reached on the basis of Narukami apologizing to Yuzuki. ANYCOLOR also stated it has strengthened its posture toward pursuing \”uncompromising, strict legal action, both civil and criminal,\” against defamation, trolling, and malicious leaks of internal information targeting its talents.
Yuzuki’s lawyer, Kazuhito Ozawa (小沢一仁), also posted on X on August 13 confirming the case concluded with the May 18 settlement and shared images of the settlement terms.
Who is Roa Yuzuki?
Roa Yuzuki (夢月ロア) is a member of Nijisanji, one of Japan’s largest VTuber agencies, operated by ANYCOLOR. She built part of her on-stream persona around a distinctive accent she describes as her own creation. Since the dispute with Kingyozaka Meiro and the subsequent online backlash began in 2020, Yuzuki has been effectively on hiatus from regular streaming activity, though she remains affiliated with the agency.
No details have been announced regarding whether Yuzuki plans to resume streaming following the settlement.

Six years. It took six years and an actual lawsuit for someone to say "okay, that wasn’t true, sorry." That’s the part I want you to sit with, not the apology itself. The "monomousu-kei" genre — professional public grievance-airing, basically — runs entirely on the assumption that if a video sounds confident and juicy enough, nobody checks the sourcing until it’s too late. Roa Yuzuki lost years of her career to a rumor that turned out to be someone else’s bad information, recycled with a straight face. I’m glad ANYCOLOR is finally talking tough about legal consequences, because right now the incentives in this corner of the internet reward being loud over being right. Apology accepted, sure — but I’d love to see the genre itself get a little humbler.
