Nijisanji talent agency ANYCOLOR has announced that its VTuber Yuzuki Roa (夢月ロア) has reached a court settlement in the defamation lawsuit she filed against an anonymous streamer, nearly six years after the controversy first erupted. The settlement confirms that claims accusing Roa of bullying a fellow liver into retirement were false, and the streamer has formally apologized.
The case dates back to October 2020, when ANYCOLOR announced it was cutting ties with a Nijisanji liver amid internal issues. Following the announcement, an outside YouTube streamer released a series of videos alleging that Roa had bullied and harassed the departing liver, driving her to quit, and that she had done so together with other livers and the company. The claims spread widely online, and Roa went on an extended hiatus from public activity.
In its statement, ANYCOLOR said the settlement establishes that no such bullying or harassment by Roa ever took place, whether acting alone or with others. The company added that the streamer acknowledged the images and information circulated as “evidence” of the bullying were based on false information supplied by a third party, and that the video content itself did not reflect the facts. As part of the settlement, the streamer apologized to Roa.
Roa pursued the case for years largely out of the public eye. In December 2021, she broke a long silence on X to reveal that her lawyer, Kazuhito Ozawa, had filed a request to identify the streamer through their internet provider, with a court injunction already granted at that stage. ANYCOLOR said it is now strengthening both civil and criminal legal measures against defamation, trolling and malicious leaks targeting its talent, and asked fans to avoid contacting Roa directly or spreading further speculation.

Yuzuki Roa is a VTuber under Nijisanji, the virtual talent agency operated by ANYCOLOR. She debuted as part of the group and built a following through her live streams before going on hiatus in October 2020 amid the harassment allegations covered in this case. Her brief return to X in late 2021 to discuss the legal proceedings drew a wave of support from fans who had continued waiting for updates on her situation.
News of the settlement drew an emotional response on social media, with fans thanking Roa for her patience through the years-long process and expressing hope that she can now find peace, whether or not she resumes public activity.

Six years, people. Six years for the internet to admit it made something up. This is exactly why I side-eye anything labeled ‘evidence’ before an actual court gets involved — a screenshot with a scary caption is not a verdict. What gets me is how quietly this dragged Roa’s whole career into limbo while the person who started it got to just keep posting. I’m glad the truth finally caught up, but let’s not pretend an apology years later undoes years of silence. Take your time coming back, Roa-chan. The rest of the internet can wait its turn to be sorry.
