YouTuber Ayanan got candid about her complicated feelings toward a “Tokai Onair wives’ drinking party” during an appearance on fellow YouTuber Hikaru’s channel on August 10, admitting she feels “a little envious” of the gathering even though she’s no longer married to Tokai Onair member Shibayu.
Ayanan married Shibayu, a member of the hit YouTuber group Tokai Onair, in 2016 and divorced him in 2024. While the two reportedly aired their conflicts publicly on social media around the time of their split, Ayanan says they remain in contact today.
The topic came up because Tokai Onair leader Tetsuya married former AKB48 member Minami Minegishi in 2022. In a video posted in December 2025, Minegishi revealed she had gotten together for drinks with the wives of other Tokai Onair members.
When Hikaru brought up the gathering on his channel, Ayanan said, “I don’t feel resentment, but I do wonder if it would’ve been fun if I’d been included. I’m a little envious.” Hikaru reassured her that it “wouldn’t feel weird” even if she had been there. Ayanan then teared up, reflecting, “Since I was the first one to become a wife in the group, I have this confidence that I was watching from the very beginning, so it makes me feel lonely, envious. I have so much I want to talk about too.”

Ayanan is a Japanese YouTuber and social media personality who rose to public attention in the mid-2010s, partly through her marriage to Shibayu, a member of the six-person comedy YouTuber group Tokai Onair (東海オンエア) — one of Japan’s most-subscribed YouTube channels, known for challenge videos and comedic skits filmed around Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture. Ayanan built her own following through lifestyle and personal content, and has remained a familiar figure to Tokai Onair fans even after her 2024 divorce from Shibayu. Hikaru, whose channel hosted this conversation, is himself one of Japan’s most prominent YouTubers, known for high-production stunt and business-themed videos.

I have to give Ayanan credit: most exes would rather eat glass than admit they’re wistful about a party thrown by their former husband’s friend group, but she said it on camera, tears and all. That’s the thing about Tokai Onair’s universe — it’s basically a small town at this point, and once you marry in, you don’t just quietly exit stage left. I don’t think this is about wanting Shibayu back; I think it’s about being erased from a story she helped write from episode one. Honestly? Somebody invite the woman to the next round of drinks.
