Singer-songwriter AKASAKI has officially made his major label debut, signing with EMI Records under Universal Music and releasing his debut major single “Tonchinkan.” The announcement was made on July 23 during his solo show “last YOUNG – 10-dai Saigo no Tandoku Koen -” (last YOUNG: A Solo Show at the End of My Teens) at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo.
Alongside the major debut, AKASAKI revealed his first world tour, “AKASAKI 1st World Tour ‘ONIGIRI’,” making him the youngest Japanese male solo artist to headline a world tour. The overseas leg kicks off October 15, 2026 in Australia and continues through Germany, the UK, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan before wrapping with Japan dates in Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo, closing on January 3, 2027 at Zepp Haneda.
“Tonchinkan” reflects AKASAKI’s own feelings and resolve, according to the artist. “This song depicts my true feelings and determination. I’ve put what I want to do next, and the kind of world I want to share, into the tone and energy of the instruments,” he said in a statement. “For those who already know AKASAKI, this might feel a little fresh, yet somehow nostalgic. With this song, I’m closing one chapter and becoming something new, so please keep watching what comes next.”
Who is AKASAKI?
AKASAKI (アカサキ) is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter and university student who turns 20 on July 27. His 2024 track “Bunny Girl” reached Spotify’s “Top 50 – Japan” chart. In late 2025, he ran his first Asia tour, “KONNICHIWA,” from November through December, becoming the youngest Japanese male solo artist to headline an Asia tour at 19, with the finale held on December 18 at KT Zepp Yokohama.
With his major label debut and now a full world tour on the horizon, AKASAKI is positioning himself as one of Japan’s fastest-rising young solo artists, building on the momentum of his teenage breakout years just as he enters his twenties.
