Veteran singer Akina Nakamori (中森明菜) will appear on TV Asahi’s “Music Station” on July 17, marking her first appearance on the long-running music program in 30 years. The episode airs as a two-hour special from 8:00 p.m. to 9:48 p.m. Japan time.
Nakamori will perform her new single “Gomen to, Suki to,” her first new single release in around 10 years, along with a TV edit of her classic song “Nanpasen.” The July 17 broadcast features a packed lineup that also includes girl group IVE, Taichi Shiozaki of M!LK, SixTONES, Snow Man, SEKAI NO OWARI, singer Toshl, BE:FIRST, Mrs. GREEN APPLE, MON7A and Yuri, each performing one or more songs.

Akina Nakamori is a Japanese singer who debuted in the early 1980s and became one of the defining idol-turned-artists of that era, known for hits such as “Nanpasen” (meaning “Shipwreck”). She has continued releasing music and performing live in the decades since, including a recent birthday concert and a new music video tied to her latest single.
