Shigechi (しげち), a tattoo artist and YouTuber known for blunt videos about his industry, says three men trespassed on his property on August 23, 2026, leading to a police response and arrests. He detailed the incident in a new video titled “[Real] The Tattoo Idiots Who Came to My House Got Arrested.”
According to Shigechi, he was at home during the day when he heard a car door slam outside, followed by knocking on a frosted window and a voice calling out. Security camera footage showed three men he described as looking like delinquents had entered his property. He immediately called Japan’s emergency police line, 110, and was told by dispatchers to stay inside and wait for officers. Shigechi says he went outside anyway out of curiosity.
Once outside, he says the men recognized him, with one pointing a smartphone camera at him and asking to “interview” him about a recent video. Another had reportedly sat down in his dog run and was smoking a cigarette. Shigechi says he declined the interview request and asked the smoker to stop, after which the man put out the cigarette on the ground of the property. Police reportedly arrived on the scene and, according to Shigechi’s account, ultimately took all three men into custody.
The visit appears to be tied to a video Shigechi posted on August 4, 2026, in which he argued that roughly one in three tattoo customers no-shows appointments, that many can’t hold a basic phone conversation, and that clients often request designs far too large or elaborate for the low prices they’re willing to pay. In the video, he said tattoo customers rank among the worst-behaved clientele of any profession, a claim that quickly went viral.
Who is Shigechi?
Shigechi is a professional tattoo artist with 23 years of experience who is also covered in tattoos himself. He runs a YouTube channel where he shares blunt, often controversial commentary about the tattoo industry and his clients, content that has helped him build a substantial online following in Japan.

I love a good "be careful what you go viral for" story, and this one has it all. Shigechi calls his own customers idiots on camera, the video blows up, and then actual strangers show up at his front door wanting a follow-up interview. In this economy? For free? The real lesson here isn’t about tattoos, it’s about the group of people in Japan who see a viral video and think "great, now let’s go find that guy’s house." That is a much bigger problem than rude tattoo clients. Also, respectfully, sitting down in someone’s dog run to smoke a cigarette while trespassing is a genuinely unhinged flex. Stay inside next time, Shigechi. The police were right.
