Natsumi Hirashima (平嶋夏海), a former member of AKB48, has announced that she has gotten married. She shared the news on her official X account with a handwritten message, writing that she has registered her marriage and that her partner is “a general person,” meaning someone outside the entertainment industry.
In her message, Hirashima looked back on her career, noting that she entered the entertainment industry at age 13. She reflected on her time with AKB48 and the various jobs and encounters she experienced after graduating from the group, including through her passion for motorcycles, saying these connections brought her to where she is today. She expressed gratitude to the fans who have supported her over the years, as well as to industry staff and everyone who has been part of her journey. Hirashima added that although she is entering a new chapter in her life, she intends to continue her entertainment career with the same mindset as before, approaching each job sincerely and continuing to improve.
Who is Natsumi Hirashima?
Natsumi Hirashima passed the audition for AKB48’s opening members in 2005, joining the group as one of its first-generation members and helping support it from its earliest days. She was also part of Watarirouka Hashiritai, a subunit formed alongside fellow AKB48 members Ayaka Tada, Haruka Nakagawa, and Mayu Watanabe. Hirashima graduated from AKB48 in 2012, and has since worked across multiple fields as a television personality, actress, and gravure idol.
