Ado to Launch 2027 Arena Tour on 10th Anniversary of Her Debut as a Singer

Ado will kick off a new arena tour, “Ado’s Utattemita Tour 2027,” on January 10, 2027 — the exact 10th anniversary of the date she first uploaded a cover (“utattemita”) video to Niconico Douga and began her career as an utaite, or online cover singer.

The tour will run across three venues for a total of six shows: Tokyo’s Ariake Arena on January 10 and 11, Osaka’s Asue Arena Osaka on January 30 and 31, and Port Messe Nagoya’s Exhibition Hall 1 in Aichi on February 27 and 28, 2027. The earliest presale tickets will be available through Ado’s official fan site, “Ado’s Dokidoki Himitsu Kichi,” from 10:00 a.m. on October 20 through 11:59 p.m. on October 27.

The tour announcement comes alongside news that Ado will release her second covers album, “Ado’s Utattemita Album Vol. 2,” on December 23, 2026. It follows her first covers album, released in December 2023, and continues a format distinct from her original-song releases — a nod back to the utattemita roots that launched her career.

Who is Ado?

Born in 2002, Ado uploaded her first utattemita video — a cover of Kuwagata-P’s “Kimi no Taion” (“Your Body Temperature”) — to Niconico Douga on January 10, 2017, launching her career as a singer who performs behind an animated avatar rather than showing her face. She signed with a major label and released her debut single “Usseewa” in October 2020, which became a nationwide social phenomenon and turned her into one of Japan’s most recognizable vocalists almost overnight. She has continued to release original songs alongside her cover work, putting out her first studio album, “Kyogen,” in January 2022 and holding her first solo live show, “Kigeki,” at Tokyo’s Zepp DiverCity that April. Later that year, she voiced the singing parts of the character Uta in the animated film “ONE PIECE FILM RED.” In 2025, marking five years since her major-label debut, Ado released her first best-of album, “Ado’s Best Adobum,” in April and held her first-ever dome tour that November. In July 2026, she performed a two-night stand at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa.

Author’s Comment

Ten years from Niconico cover videos to arenas — I love that Ado is marking the anniversary with the thing that actually made her, instead of pretending the hits came out of nowhere. Japanese fans have always had a soft spot for utaite culture, and there’s something almost sentimental about her circling back to a Vol. 2 covers album right as the arena tickets go on sale. Of course the timing is immaculate — a decade-anniversary narrative sells tickets just as well as a new single does, and nobody in this industry misses a marketing beat like that. Still, I’ll take a genuine victory lap over a manufactured one any day, and after "Usseewa" rewired an entire generation’s idea of what a hit sounds like, she’s earned hers.
