Ryosuke Yamada (山田涼介) has been announced as a new cast member for NHK’s taiga drama series “Toyotomi Kyodai!” (Toyotomi Brothers!), marking his first appearance in the long-running historical drama format.
According to WEBザテレビジョン, Yamada will play Toyotomi Hidetsugu, a role described as one that significantly shapes the fate of the “brothers” at the center of the story. The drama stars Taiga Nakano and airs Sunday nights from 8:00 to 8:45 p.m. on NHK General and other channels. Yamada was among eight new cast members revealed for the series.
Toyotomi Hidetsugu was the nephew and adopted heir of the historical warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and his storyline is expected to play a pivotal part in the drama’s depiction of the Toyotomi clan’s rise and eventual decline.
