Chanmina (ちゃんみな) wrapped her first-ever solo shows at Tokyo Dome on July 11 and 12, closing out her “AREA OF DIAMOND FINAL” tour with a night of surprises, including an emotional handwritten letter read aloud by INI member Nishi Koto (西洸人), her former backup dancer of nearly seven years.
Both Tokyo Dome dates sold out immediately. The opening-night set was briefly halted after a sound malfunction cut into the first song, “KING.” Unfazed, Chanmina joked to the packed arena that she had apparently run into “the monster of Tokyo Dome,” drawing laughs from the crowd before the show restarted from the top.
Once underway, the concert moved through highlights from Chanmina’s catalog, including “RED,” “Princess,” “note-book” and “PAIN IS BEAUTY,” alongside a guest appearance from BOBBY of the K-pop group iKON. The pair performed their 2024 collaboration “무중력 (harmless)” while suspended roughly 30 meters above the arena floor on balloons, with BOBBY admitting afterward that the stunt had left him frightened.
The show’s most emotional moment came when Nishi appeared on a moving stage set up in the arena. He danced alongside Chanmina for about seven years before her major-label debut and now performs with the boy group INI. During an MC segment, he read a surprise letter thanking her and her team for shaping his path, telling the crowd he had learned what it truly means to love in that place. He also asked to bring two other former dance partners, MiQael and Genta Yamaguchi, back on stage for a reunion.
Chanmina closed the main set with a new, autobiographical song titled “LEGEND,” which shares its title with her upcoming album and traces her path from childhood to the Tokyo Dome stage. The concert came just days after Chanmina announced on July 7 that she had married fellow rapper ASH ISLAND and is expecting their first child.
