Reina and Mahiro, the duo behind the popular YouTube channel Reimahihome (れいまひほーむ), have announced their breakup after seven years together. The pair broke the news in a joint video posted on July 4, 2026, telling fans, “we had a serious talk, and as a result, we’ve decided to go our separate ways.”
The two said the split was not caused by infidelity or a fight, and described themselves as still “really close” even after ending their romantic relationship. According to the video, it was Reina who first brought up the idea of breaking up. Mahiro admitted his initial reaction was resistance, saying “at first, I really didn’t want to,” but that he eventually came around, telling himself he had to look forward as the two kept talking things through.
Despite planning to keep the announcement upbeat, both grew emotional on camera. “We said we’d film this without crying, but that’s not happening,” one of them said, adding that it was “really hard.” Mahiro thanked Reina through tears, saying he was glad to have spent what people call the most youthful years of life with her, and that she had always been the one to support him during difficult times. Reina said she, too, was “full of gratitude” for their years together.
Both plan to continue their YouTube activities individually going forward. Reina has reportedly moved to Tokyo along with her dogs, and Mahiro said he hopes to film vlogs visiting her and the pets in the future.
Who is Reimahihome?
Reimahihome is the joint YouTube channel of Reina and Mahiro, who began dating in 2019 after appearing together on the ABEMA dating reality show “Today, I Fell in Love” (今日、好きになりました), a program in which contestants live together and pursue romance, in a format similar to shows like Terrace House. The couple built a following documenting their relationship on YouTube over the following seven years before announcing their breakup this month.
