Whistleblower YouTuber KoreKore Announces Suspension of Activities After Contact from Police

Social Media

KoreKore (34), a YouTuber known for his exposé and whistleblowing videos, announced on September 5 via his X (formerly Twitter) account that he will be suspending his social media activities after being contacted by the police. With 2.37 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, the sudden announcement from the popular streamer has sent shockwaves across the online community.

Connection to the Einstein Inada Incident Revealed
On the same day KoreKore announced his suspension, the Cybercrime Division of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police revealed that Tomonari Kubo (32), an unemployed man with no fixed address, had been arrested on suspicion of violating the Unauthorized Computer Access Act for illegally accessing the Instagram account of Naoki Inada (40), a member of the comedy duo “Einstein.”

From Inada’s account, messages were reportedly sent to a woman’s account demanding sexual images. The woman, disturbed by the messages, consulted KoreKore, which triggered the exposure of the case.

Apology for Past Allegations
In July 2024, KoreKore had revealed claims from a woman who alleged she had received obscene messages from Inada. However, in September 2025, it was confirmed that Inada was not responsible, as his account had been hacked. With the possibility of facing charges himself, KoreKore declared his suspension from social media.

On X, he posted: “I was contacted by the police. Until this is resolved, I will refrain from using social media.” He also issued an apology to several people he had covered in past broadcasts, including Naoki Inada, Mahoto Watanabe, Peketan, Hikaru, Hajime Shacho, Koto Tsumi, Mafumafu, Gaou, Junichi Kato, and Kaneko Aya.

Pressure from Talent Agencies Emerges
The day before the suspension, on September 4, KoreKore had announced that he would set his official X account to private due to pressure from a major entertainment agency, sparking heated discussions online. This issue is also believed to be connected to his decision to suspend activities.

KoreKore’s Career and Influence
KoreKore has been active on various platforms since 2005, currently focusing on YouTube (2.37 million subscribers) and TwitCasting. He is known for his broadcasting style, which often features whistleblowing and personal disputes based on tips submitted by viewers, and has been involved in numerous internet controversies.

In 2020, he covered the case involving YouTuber Tenchim, who was criticized for promoting a night bra while concealing the fact that she had undergone breast augmentation. His influence has earned him the nickname “the Bunshun of the Internet.” Reports suggest his streaming income alone amounts to about $670,000 (roughly 100 million yen) per year, making him a key figure in the online streaming world.

Uncertain Future
With KoreKore’s suspension, many of the cases and allegations he has covered may now require re-examination. While the police investigation continues, there has been no indication of when he might resume his streaming activities.

This incident has reignited debate over the role of exposé-based content in online media and the critical importance of verifying information before its release.

Author’s Comment
Watching this controversy unfold reminds me how truly frightening information can be. KoreKore is undeniably influential, and many people follow his streams, but with that influence comes enormous responsibility.

The Inada case is a textbook example. When claims surfaced that he had sent lewd messages under the name of an AbemaTV project, of course people thought, “Wow, did he really do that?” But in reality, it was someone else who hijacked his account. Ordinary people can’t know such details.

Yet once information spreads online, no amount of apology can completely erase it. For over a year, Inada lived under suspicion, facing uncomfortable stares from viewers every time he appeared on TV. Even though his partner Kawai and fellow comedians defended him, the toll on him personally must have been unbearable.

Exposé-style streaming may serve a social purpose in uncovering wrongdoing, but determining what is true and what is false is incredibly difficult. KoreKore should have verified the facts more carefully instead of broadcasting viewer-submitted claims at face value.

Streamers are human, and mistakes happen. But those mistakes can ruin someone’s life. They must carry that weight more seriously, especially with celebrities whose reputations directly affect their work. If people handling information don’t exercise extreme caution, tragedies like this will keep happening.
