Yurinya, a popular influencer with over one million followers on TikTok, has become entangled in a serious scandal involving her romantic partner. On August 2, the man at the center of the controversy, Taichi Saito, issued a public statement. While Saito admitted to engaging in an extramarital affair and apologized, he firmly denied the accusations of non-consensual sex and other forms of sexual misconduct raised by the alleged victim, calling them “completely baseless.”
Saito Acknowledges Affair but Denies Assault Allegations
In his statement, Saito expressed remorse for his actions, saying, “I deeply regret my affair with the other woman and sincerely apologize to Yurinya.” However, he strongly refuted the woman’s claims, stating, “I categorically deny the following allegations: non-consensual sex, rape, use of sleeping drugs, choking, and sex acts involving bleeding. These are all unfounded lies.”
Despite addressing the affair, Saito did not comment on the reported pregnancy of the woman involved—an omission that raises further questions. He presented an alternative version of events in his statement but avoided addressing this critical point.
Yurinya Cuts Ties Publicly
On August 1, Yurinya updated her Instagram to address the situation, admitting that reports claiming her partner impregnated a member of her idol group “Pretty Chuu” were “largely true.” She apologized and added, “I learned about this incident for the first time through public posts. I was shocked.”
She went on to say, “Right now, I’m prioritizing the mental and physical well-being of the affected member and doing everything I can as a producer to support her.” Yurinya also made a firm declaration: “As a human being, I strongly condemn the actions of Taichi Saito and hereby declare that I will have no further involvement with him.”
Alleged Victim Speaks Out
The woman involved, believed to be the alleged victim, reportedly wrote on social media, “I hope people understand that I never had any feelings for him. I simply wanted to be an idol. That’s all.” She also stated, “I’ve filed a police report,” indicating that legal action is being pursued.
The case has drawn public attention as a potential example of abuse of power within the idol production industry, particularly the exploitation of authority in producer-member relationships. There are also reports that the woman was a virgin, which has added further gravity to the situation.
Past Warnings Resurface
In light of the scandal, a 2020 social media post by female YouTuber Wakanyan has resurfaced. Wakanyan, believed to be a former girlfriend of Saito, had previously raised concerns about his problematic behavior. Her earlier warnings are now being re-examined in the context of the current allegations.
Looking Ahead
Yurinya has pledged to review the group’s management structure, stating, “We will take all possible measures to ensure that every member of Pretty Chuu can work in a safe and supportive environment, including re-evaluating our internal systems.”
Meanwhile, as the alleged victim has reportedly submitted a formal complaint to authorities, the case may soon proceed through the judicial system. Saito’s refusal to address the pregnancy claim in his statement is expected to remain a key point of contention moving forward.
This incident has sparked widespread debate about power harassment and sexual misconduct within the influencer and entertainment industries, underscoring the need for systemic reforms and accountability.
